Embassy World Snooker Final 2004
Mark Roberts continues in his passion to bring laughter to the world. Following on from his massive hit at the Superbowl in Houston TX, Mark comes home to have a game of snooker ... but not just any ordinary game of snooker. He thought he'd pop on seconds before the final frame of the Embassy World Snooker Finals as millions of fans watched the final on TV.
Just before the start of the final session, with Ronnie O'Sullivan poised to beat 200-1 outsider Graeme Dott, Roberts pulled off his clothes, ran down steps and on to the floor as the audience cheered. He danced around the famous green baize at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. He was 'captured' by officials before trying to claim 'Psychological Asylum' under the snooker table ... only to come out after he received his results from his 11-plus exam and a helicopter!
He sported a pair of joke teeth, as did O'Sullivan when he picked up his trophy following his 18-8 victory. The 39-year-old, of Kensington, Liverpool, said he had only planned his peak-time
exposure one day before the snooker final.
He said: "I have got away with it. I only wanted to have a laugh, I didn't want to cause any friction in the game so I had to pick my moment. After the Superbowl I didn't plan anything for a while, so for just one day's planning it has gone very well."
Roberts, who later enjoyed a pint of beer in a Sheffield pub and a surprise jovial phone call from Ronnie O'Sullivan, said he was led away from the snooker table by security officials and put in a changing room.
Mark was eventually handed over to South Yorkshire Police who allegedly had a quick autograph session before releasing him without charge.

Mark hits the headlines again, this time with a quick raid in Oslo, Norway.

Royal Ascot on Ladies Day
Mark Roberts successfully streaked at Royal Ascot on Ladies Day, 19th June 2003. He performed his streak shortly before the main race of the day, appearing as "Lady Muck", wearing a full length black batwing dress! A selection of photos for your delectation are below! ASBO! Case Dismissed! 8th August 2007"Serial streaker escapes Asbo"
Mark has avoided an Anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) which would have banned him from exposing himself at public events.
Merseyside Police applied for the Asbo against the 42-year-old after he struck at the Open Golf Championship in Hoylake, Wirral, last year.
But his behaviour was not judged distressing enough to warrant an Asbo.
Toy squirrel
District Judge Nick Sanders was told that as Tiger Woods was due to tee off at the Open Golf Championship last year Mr Roberts ran around the green with just a toy squirrel covering his genitals and a golf ball between his buttocks.
Jim Clarke, for the police, said: "It is not the aim of the police to land Mr Roberts in jail, it is to prevent public and sporting events from being disrupted."
Laurence Lee, defending, said apart from last September's Ryder Cup in Ireland, Mr Roberts had not offended for 12 months.
He said: "My client has turned over a new fig leaf."
"He accepts that some people might be offended. But this is good, old fashioned British fun."
Dismissing the application at Wirral magistrates' court, Judge Sanders said: "What Mr Roberts does may be annoying but, in my opinion, it does not amount to anti-social behaviour."
Afterwards Mr Roberts, who is unmarried and unemployed, described the decision as a victory for the British sense of humour.
He said: "Humour and justice has prevailed over political correctness. My motivation has only ever been to entertain people.
"Never once have I been booed. The day I get booed by the public is the day I stop."
Roy's streaker
A streaker knocked to the ground by an Andrew Symonds shoulder charge at the Gabba last night said today he wasn't sorry for his actions - because "you only live once".
Robert Murray David Ogilvie, 26, of Park Ridge South, today pleaded guilty in Brisbane Magistrates Court to one count each of interfering with a person engaged in sport and wilful obscene exposure.
He escaped with a $1500 fine, with no conviction recorded.
Outside court today, Ogilvie - this time wearing a yellow shirt and green shorts - was mobbed by a large media contingent.
He said he would not make an official complaint about Symonds' shoulder charge, which knocked him off his feet during the 10th over of Australia's innings in their one-day final loss to India.
"It was just like playing football, really," the underground miner, who earns $4000 per month, quipped when asked what it felt like when he was knocked to the ground by the big Queensland all-rounder.
While Ogilvie said he wanted to apologise to the players for invading the pitch, he was "not overly" sorry for the streak, nor embarrassed after being seen by 30,000 people at the ground and hundreds of thousands on live television.
"You only live once," he said of the spontaneous decision, saying it was the first time he had streaked.
But tonight Ogilvie told Channel Nine's A Current Affair that he had appeared naked in public before.
"The last few years it's happened a couple of times here and there,'' he told Nine."At a party or two I might be seen running up the road.''
Brisbane Magistrates Court today heard despite large signs warning spectators not to enter the ground, at 6.20pm a naked Ogilvie was seen scaling a boundary fence in section 15 of the ground before running across the field.
Police prosecutors said after evading security guards, he ran towards the pitch where he "collided" with Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds and fell to the ground.
He later told police it was "just something that he had to do".
His Legal Aid defence lawyer said Ogilvie, who had no criminal history, had consumed several beers with his friends and his brother during the match, before he "made the very unfortunate decision" to streak.
"This is an aberration in an otherwise law-abiding existence," she said.
If Ogilvie cannot pay his $1500 fine, he faces the prospect of 40 days in jail.

Streaking in Sports :Rugby Union Twenty-five-year-old Australian Michael O'Brien was the first known streaker at a major sporting event when on April 20, 1974, he ran out naked onto the ground of an England vs. France Rugby Union match at Twickenham. The photograph of O'Brien captured by the police became one of the most famous photographs of a streaker activity. Erica Roe, a bookshop assistant, also streaked during a rugby union Test at Twickenham in 1982.Recently, in New Zealand, there have been incidents of streaking at rugby union matches.
Cricket In the sport of cricket, it is not uncommon for a streaker to run out to the field purely for shock and entertainment value or political purposes. On example was in the First Test of the Australia versus the I.C.C. World XI, when a rather drunken man darted out toward the field naked, shocking the Australian and World XI players, halting play until he was spear tackled to the ground by field personnel after trying to evade their trap (this is the usual method to capture streakers at sporting events) and was apprehended. In one notable incident in 1977, Australian test cricketer Greg Chappell spanked an invading streaker named Bruce McCauley with his cricket bat; McCauley then fell to the ground and was arrested by police. Former cricket streaker Sheila Nicholls went on to have a successful career in the American music business. Streaking also occurred during the 2007 Boxing Day test match at the MCG between India and Australia. The Indian media incorrectly reported that local police wrapped the streaker with an Indian flag he was carrying as he charged onto the turf late in the day, at a potential cost of $6,000 in fines. The flag in question was an Irish flag. The most recent streaking incident was during the second one-day final between Australia and India at the Gabba. A 26-year old Brisbane man, Robert Ogilvy, invaded the pitch during the 10th over, only to receive a Shoulder Barge from Australian test cricketer Andrew Symonds, causing the streaker to drop instantly to the ground where he was apprehended by Police. The streaker has since been fined $1500, with Symonds receiving no charges.

In 2005, German football club FC Hansa Rostock successfully sued three streakers who disrupted their 2003 match against Hertha Berlin, to recoup the €20,000 they were fined by the German Football Association for failing to maintain adequate security at their ground. During a 2007 exhibition match between Wellington Phoenix and Los Angeles Galaxy, a female streaker took to the pitch trying to unofficially promote a business ran by New Zealand sporting personality Marc Ellis. Although Ellis is well known for his promotion of streaking and reimbursement for those fined while doing so, he refused to pay the cost of the fine. In order to pay, the streaker unsuccessfully attempted to sell the item of underwear she wore at the time on online auction site TradeMe.
Olympic games
In the 2006 Winter Olympics, streaker Mark Roberts interrupted the men's bronze medal curling match between the U.S. team and the UK team, wearing nothing but a strategically placed rubber chicken. He was intending to advertise a well known gambling website, which was written across his back and breast, but in the United States, cameras cut away before viewers could see him. A Polish female streaker showed up at the closing ceremony, but was not on the telecast either.
Professional wrestling
In an episode of "SmackDown!" in 2003, Sean O'Haire convinced Brian Kendrick that he would get attention for himself if he streaked through the arena. He made the run, wearing only a long knitted scarf. One has to remember that this was indeed under kayfabe. At 'WrestleMania 23 a streaker climbed over the fan barricade and climbed on the ring apron right at the start of the main event match between John Cena and Shawn Michaels. The fan was promptly removed by security while Michaels sat on the turnbuckle and mockingly waved good-bye to the crazed fan.

The 1996 Wimbledon's Men's singles final between MaliVai Washington and Richard Krajicek was interrupted by a female streaker just before the toss. Melissa Johnson, a 23 year student thereby became Wimbledon's first streaker.
In 2006 a quarter-final match between Elena Dementieva and Maria Sharapova at Wimbledon was interrupted by a male streaker, who was escorted off court by police. He was later indentified as Dutch radio DJ Sander Lantinga, who was streaking for a TV show called 'Try Before You Die'.

The first was Lianne Crofts in the final of the 1997 Benson & Hedges Masters between Steve Davis and Ronnie O'Sullivan. Since then there have been two streakers at the World Snooker Championship. The first was Andrew Slater, who appeared in a Sven-Göran Eriksson mask and socks during a match between Paul Hunter and Quinten Hann in 2002. Then, during the final in 2004 between Ronnie O'Sullivan and Graeme Dott, Mark Roberts ran down the stairs and tried to claim asylum under the table.

BadmintonDuring the 2007 PBO Championships Badminton, Pieter Van Landeghem disrupted the tournament by running naked on the court.

Female 'Streaker' Interrupts Soccer Game, Raises Soccer Game Awareness [Streakers] The USA under-23 soccer team beat Honduras 1-0 in CONCACAF qualifying last night. But that's not the real story, for I don't know who scored the goal, or even what the impact this has on the CONCACAF ... tournament? Do they have a tournament? The zenith of the match was a brief interruption by one American badass female "streaker," according to the eyewitness account. With all due respect, kind reporter man, I take umbrage with your loose definition of what a streaker is. See, streaking doesn't just imply nudity, it damn most certainly demands the uninhibited presence of crotch bits.
